Bytes, kilobytes, megabytes, gigabytes, terabytes - we deal with these constantly. But how big is each one, really?
A byte is 8 bits - basically one character of text. A kilobyte is about 1,000 bytes (or 1,024 technically). A megabyte is a million bytes, and it goes up from there.
Why Convert?
Sometimes a file size is shown in bytes, sometimes in megabytes. A converter helps you understand exactly what you're looking at. No more guessing if that download is 2 MB or 2 GB!
